It's been a tough few years for business in Big Sur. In 2016 the Sobreanes Fire (the most expensive wildfire in US history) burned over 130,000 acres of pristine nature and in 2017 a devastating landslide buried almost a mile of Highway 1, closing many businesses. I took a drive down Highway way 1, just to see how far I could go and saw how lush and green everything is, especially with the fog, it's very dreamlike. After my drive, I knew I wanted to shoot in Big Sur. Dream catchers were inspired from the mystical fog and the wildflowers were inspired from the rolling hills covered with them that I found on my drive. This elopement is nontraditional, bohemian, and beautiful.
